Here are the lamps we used in our example:
Coloured light always has an effect on the human psyche. Each colour has a wavelength and an energy that is transmitted to our body. For example, blue light has a cool and calming effect, whereas red light is warm and stimulating.
When illuminating a person, if the light is no longer in the line of sight (as with three-point lighting) but behind a person, the head’s silhouette is highlighted. The person's face becomes unrecognisable, the light causing a dramatic effect.
If the highlight becomes the strongest light source, the person appears with a ring of light. In film, this is often used to make a person, object or scene appear supernatural or threatening.
